I need to get better at javascript & webassembly, so I can build tools to explain ideas and test hypothesis, and easily share them.
I need to get better at writing and speaking, so I can show people the importance of doing work that matters.
I need to learn statistics, so I can understand the world around me and machine learning research.
I need to learn machine learning, so I can help solve problems and shape the direction of the field.
I need to learn law & economics & game theory, so I can help design smarter incentives and mechanisms for coordination and decision making.
On top of all that, there’s tricky stuff that you don’t permanently keep after you learn it once. Like focus capacity, promise keeping, listening skills, and the thousand other things that change how I work every day.
Two decades down, just a few more left. So much important, urgent work to do.
